Undergraduate Admissions

How to Get Your I-20

This information is only for degree seeking international undergraduates.  If you are admitted to the Applied English Center as a non-degree student, please contact aec@ku.edu for shipping instructions.

The Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) will process the I-20 (SEVIS immigration document) and compose an admission packet to be mailed to you after you have been admitted to KU.  In order to receive your admission packet, you must choose ONE of two shipping options.

→ Send by Express Mail

We highly recommend this option! If you choose this option, you must make arrangements within 7 days of your admission.

You must go to http://study.eshipglobal.com to set up and pay for your express mail (do not go through DHL or FedEx directly!) Express mailing documents is faster, and usually it takes 3-4 days.

We use a third party service, eShipGlobal, which allows you to select your destination by DHL or FedEx.

At http://study.eshipglobal.com, you will be required to create an account.  To request a shipment, you will need a mailing address, e-mail, phone number, and credit card information.  Select "Intl. Student & Scholar Services" as the department.  If you have any questions while using this service, please e-mail support@eshipglobal.com.

→ Send by Regular Mail

If eShipGlobal does not receive your request within 7 days of your admission, your documents will be shipped through regular US Postal Service air mail. Regular mail can take up to 2-4 weeks for international mailings and 3-7 days for mailings within the United States. If you choose this option, please reply to our Document Specialist’s e-mail with the following information, written in your native language and with an English translation:

  • Your full name
  • Your complete mailing address
  • Your phone number

  • We will include this information for mailing your I-20 and admission packet, so that your documents reach you as quickly as possible.

  • If you have questions about the shipping of your SEVIS documents, please contact issdocs@ku.edu
